Uppsala is a beautiful and much loved town, full of sights and with a rich history. This makes it a prime tourist attraction, especially during summers, resulting in quite a few options to choose from in regards to accommodations. There is a number of hotels and hostels at a variety of prices in central Uppsala, close to the venue, with easy communications and a great opportunity to experience the sights.

Overall, the rule of thumb in Sweden is that accommodation is cheapest when booked online, and common hotel websites like Booking.com and Hotels.com do offer an array of choices, usually with a late date canceling option, free of cost.
Many hotel chains are therefor reluctant to engage in discounts during high season (June-August), but we’ve managed to pull together a few deals with the help of Uppsala Convention Bureau!

Before browsing through your options, please remember:
• Most modern hotels in Sweden are wheelchair accessible in lobbys, restaurants etc, but the bedrooms might not always have all the amenities you’d wish for (like bathroom stools or electric door openers). Check in with the hotel before hand if you want to make sure the room suits your needs and expectations.

• Many Swedish hotels and hostels are moving away from cash usage, and will only take card. Please be prepared for this!

Located on one of Uppsalas main shopping streets, with ten minutes walking distance to the venue. Known for great service and its popular weekend brunch (breakfast can be upgraded to brunch on Saturdays and Sundays for a fee).
Gillet has been the venue for two Swecons in the past decade, leading to a solid collaboration. The GoHs and most of the con-com for Konflikt will be staying here.

The largest hotel in Uppsala, situated right by Central Station. Known among other things for its top modern facilities, its high end restaurant Miss Voon on the top floor (including the grand view overlooking Uppsala), and the well stocked pub on the ground floor (The Bishops Arms at Elite Hotel offers about 400 choices of beer on bottle and tap combined).

Overlooking the streets made famous from the stories about children’s book character Peter-No-Tail (Pelle Svanslös), Akademihotellet offers a comfortable stay at the heart of Uppsala.

Best Western Hotel Svava
Centrally located and right across the street from Uppsala Central Station, you’ll find Best Western Hotel Svava! The hotel offers comfortable rooms suited to both business travelers and private tourists, at medium-range prices.
Svava is right on the brink of Uppsalas busiest shopping streets, as well as located right on top of a grocery store, Hemköp – perfect for the person who likes a late night snack, or the traveler that tends to forget some things at home (Hemköp is open from 7am to 10pm every day). It’s also just 10-15 minutes walk from the venue.

Despite many great aspects to the facilities, Svava unfortunately is not an accessible hotel in terms of mobility: it has very many stairs, and the elevators do not always go to all floors. Please be wary of this when considering your choice of accommodation!
